Job Description:
We are looking for a full-time service technician to work on our rotary drying systems. The technician would be involved with the commissioning of new systems at initial startup, annual service visits, maintenance and repair, and remote troubleshooting. Our valued customers are located throughout the United States, so this position involves a lot of travel. Our ideal candidate will have:- Experience with mechanical equipment
- Familiarity with fuel trains and burners
- Knowledge of rotary equipment
- Ability to use and troubleshoot relay-based and PLC controls
- A demonstrated track record of working on the road
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Proficiency in writing concise, detailed, accurate service reports

We have spent the last 30 years as the leading rotary dryer company for the rendering industry and have worked hard in recent years to expand our market reach to other industries such as dairy bedding, poultry manure, municipal biosolids, and many more. This expansion has ramped up growth, driving a need for additional talented engineers to keep up with demand and allow the growth to continue. We are able to offer the stability and benefits of being a well-known name in our industry but still present all the benefits of being a small company. We are looking for someone who is self-driven, creative, and has a strong desire for continual learning. Position Details We are looking for an engineer to add to our small design team of three. Our engineers utilize company design standards and best practices, along with a wealth of knowledge gained in the 30 year history of the company, to design equipment used in rotary drying systems. Some of the responsibilities of our Design Engineers are as follows:- Use SolidWorks sheet metal to design rotary drums, cyclones, and ductwork
- Use SolidWorks weldments to design structural supports and platforms
- Produce detailed drawing sets to be used for fabrication
- Use AutoCAD to create P&ID and PFD drawings
- Create layouts based on customer needs and constraints
- Develop installation drawing packets to make installation easy for contractors
- Work closely with the shop to ensure designing for manufacturability
- Utilize customer and service department feedback to improve equipment for operators
- Nest parts in sheet metal nesting software to be cut on our waterjet
- Input data into ERP system for ordering purchased components
- Constantly look for ways to improve designs and processes
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and/or structural design
- Ability to communicate with coworkers, customers, and vendors
- Strong skills with SolidWorks
- Experience with SolidWorks Sheet Metal and Weldment modules are a plus
- Experience with nesting sheet metal
- AutoCAD experience
- Experience designing industrial equipment
